It's not a fight, it's the Good Old War

 

Another great musical experience for me here in Salt Lake City.  Good Old War came to town for the second time and sang beautiful harmonies like only they could.  They feel like a modern day Simon & Garfunkel to me but maybe I'm way off.  But still it amazes me how horrible the crowds at shows are here in Utah. They must not care about anyone else around them and are too cool to loosen up and have a good time.  Still, I keep going because the music is always wonderful.  And all in all its a great evening.  More good news, I am now employed and will be starting school here very soon.  I guess that makes me a productive member of society.  And that is a very new thing.  I hope I can stay on top of it and also still find some time for the things that I enjoy most. I'm off to listen to the newest Jenny Lewis band called Jenny and Johnny.  And maybe these videos from Saturday night.

A Brand New Year

Yes, it is a new year.  What else is new though?  I'm sitting here listening to Bon Iver and wondering is 2011 just a continued version of 2010.  I really really hope not.  But the fact that I still listen to Bon Iver is an example that alot will be the same.  I guess it's not all bad.  I'm looking forward to alot actually.  1) I'm finally back in school.  I never thought I would be excited about that but it feels good to have some idea of what I want for my future.  The people that know me best might laugh because they know my idea for the future changes every 35 minutes or so.  But atleast I'm trying.  2) I turn 26 this year.  Yes, I'm staring right into my late 20's and I am not scared.  I still giggle like I am 16 and my age has finally caught up to my beard.  I think I have earned some of this gray hair.  3) Anything unexpected.  The start of every year I'm always so curious as to what the future actually holds.  So 2011 bring it on.  But let us not forget the good things that happened last year.
